STEAM Night - MARCH 2026

STEAM NIGHT

Volunteer to help with Del Lago's STEAM NIGHT!

March 19th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM in and around the MPR.

We'll need volunteers to help run ten STEAM stations in celebration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Plus, there will be a food truck, music, a raffle, and tons of fun!

(Please make sure you have a current Volunteer Form on file with the front office!)

To signup you must either login or provide a first name, last name, and email address. Login

You should have access to this email account and be able to receive emails related to this volunteering opportunity.

It's funny, but robots don't seem to be able to do simple math.

Station 1 Straw Rockets (Aerodynamics)
Welcome to our Aerodynamics Station! Today, we're exploring aerodynamics with an exciting activity: crafting and launching straw rockets. Kids will design and construct their rockets using basic materials, learning about Newton's Third Law of Motion as they observe their rockets' flight. Through hands-on experimentation, they'll discover how fin placement and nose cone shape affect the rocket's path. After the launches, students will reflect on their findings, leaving with a deeper understanding of aerodynamics and a curiosity to explore further.
